Dutch comedies are often surreal, utterly funny yet with a core of sadness. Matterhorn is a Dutch comedy. But it is not a fun film with no depth, on the contrary first time filmmaker Diedrick Ebbinge tackles major themes like religion, homosexuality, loneliness and mental illness.
