Nell’intervista a Giovanna Gagliardo, regista di Good Morning Tel Aviv nella sezione special screenings del Rome Film Festival abbiamo parlato della città più cosmopolita del Medio Oriente, di come è nato questo progetto del documentario e dei protagonisti che incontriamo al suo interno.

Good Morning Tel Aviv: Tel Aviv è la città che non dorme mai, la più laica e cosmopolita di tutto il Medio Oriente, capitale del gay pride e del business, della creatività e della finanza, dell’innovazione scientifica e del culto della tradizione, città-laboratorio, in perenne evoluzione. Strutturato come un racconto visivo che si snoda in 24 ore, il film prende avvio nelle notti della città, proseguendo nelle albe rigorose dove pulizia e decoro predispongono la città al tradizionale dinamismo quotidiano. Il racconto di una lunga giornatatipo con numerose interviste, a partire dal sindaco di Tel Aviv, alla guida della città dal 1998. Ma anche incontri con grandi economisti, architetti, imprenditori, commercianti, filosofi, cineasti, artisti, scrittori. C’è, infine, la domanda delle domande: come sarà Tel Aviv, fra dieci o venti anni? Tutti concordi sul suo ruolo di unicum, forse difficile da capire, ma con molto da imparare, ascoltando i suoi abitanti.
