Live from the 77th Venice Film Festival, it’s Big FRED Venice! A daily journal from the world’s first major international film festival to hold a physical edition since the coronavirus outbreak. In this episode, host Matt Micucci is joined by Queen Elizabeth II to talk about some of the films presented on day 3 of the oldest film festival in the world, including Greta – a documentary on influential young activist Greta Thunberg – and The Disciple – an Indian feature revolving around Indian Classical Music, executive produced by Alfonso Cuarón. We also mention the importance of film preservation and congratulate composer Terence Blanchard, jazz icon and longtime collaborator of Spike Lee, on receiving the Campari Passion for Film Award, which recognizes director’s close collaborators’ contributions to artistic projects.
