In this extract, Peter Zeitlinger himself discusses the always relevant topic of shooting on digital as opposed to shooting on film.
Peter Zeitlinger is a Czech-Austrian director of photography, who has won several international awards and excels both at documentary as well as fictional filmmaking. He has worked with legendary Austrian directors like Ulrich Seidl and Götz Spielmann, and from 1995 on was the regular DoP for Werner Herzog, with whom he filmed both documentaries CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS and ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD and feature films like RESCUE DAWN and BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS. His latest film, Herzog’s QUEEN OF THE DESERT, is in Competition at this year’s Berlinale.
