Juliette Lewis – Actress – Kelly & Cal

Festival section: Narrative Spotlight

Description: Juliette Lewis talks to FRED about her challenging role in the indie film “Kelly and Cal” as well as composing some of the songs featured in the soundtrack. She also shares her thoughts about her experience working with female directors. And if she hadn’t taken up acting as a career, what would she be do? The answer to this was surprising…

About the film:  Punk-rocker turned suburban mom, Kelly, is nostalgic for a life she can no longer have and uncertain of a future she doesn’t yet fit in. Seventeen-year-old Cal is frustrated at his lack of control over the hand he’s been dealt. When the two strike up an unlikely friendship, it’s the perfect spark needed to thrust them both back to life.
