“The earthquake is the central character of the film”says Horacio Alcalà, director of Finlandia, screening in the All the Lovers section at the 37th Lovers Film Festival in Turin. After discovering the existence of the Muxes of Oaxaca, people living their life in a third genre, not recognizing themselves as men or women. Alcalà explains how he developed the idea of the earthquake linking two places together through its effects and at the same time the saying that Earthquakes are the way in which the Earth can free itself of its ghosts.
