Penélope Cruz, productora y protagonista de En los márgenes, cuenta cómo surgió el proyecto de la película junto al director Juan Diego Botto, que debuta detrás de las cámaras. La cinta, que concursa en la sección Orizzonti del festival, sigue a un grupo de víctimas de desahucios por parte de bancos y a quienes luchan para pararlos. Entre ellos está el personaje de Luis Tosar, también presente en la charla.

En los márgenes: La cuenta atrás de tres personajes con tres historias entrelazadas que tratan de mantenerse a flote y sobrevivir a 24 horas claves que pueden cambiar para siempre el curso de sus vidas. El film explora el efecto que una situación de estrés económico tiene sobre las relaciones personales y cómo el afecto y la solidaridad pueden ser un motor para salir adelante.
