Fiona Gillies and Raj Sharma – Producers – The Beat Beneath My Feet
FRED’s Matt Micucci meets the producers of THE BEAT BENEATH MY FEET, which had its world premiere in the Summer section of the Raindance Film Festival. The takes us through the journey of the making of the film, a journey that started out with an idea of wanting to make a film where music was a key element. They also tell us about how they chose the right director and cast for their project, as well as what their future plans for The Beat Beneath My Feet are, after the success of the world premiere here at Raindance.
THE BEAT BENEATH my feet is the story of a lonely and introvert teenager who lets loose his frustrations by writing and playing music – though he fails to overcome his crippling shyness. In comes a new mysterious neighbour, an 80s guitar hero now on the run from the law and recovering from a serious emotional trauma. After an initial contrast, the two start bonding and as the film progresses they touch each other’s lives, offering each other a shot at redemption. The film stars a mixture of new and familiar faces. Newcomer Nicholas Galitzine is impressive in his feature film debut as the talented teenager, while Luke Perry with his performance as the once iconic rockstar Max Stone may have just have delivered his best big screen turn in this film.
