Last week, we interviewed Waad al-Kateab, director of For Sama, the powerful documentary on the Syrian uprising which won the top prize at the inaugural edition of Turkey’s International Migration Film Festival. This week, we are joined with the festival’s programme director, Hülya Sungu, to talk some more about the festival itself. In this conversation, we talk about the significance of such a thematic film festival in Turkey. We also talk about the challenging of managing to transition the inaugural edition of the festival into an online edition. Then, of course, we talk about the films themselves that were screened as part of the programme.
