Raccoglie la sfida di un’edizione virtuale, la sua 11esima, When East meets West WEMW e si prepara a pensare e offrire un programma “out of the box” che non solo cambi a livello di formato ma che mira a portare tutti i pregi di WEMW anche in versione digitale. In arrivo dal 25 al 29 gennaio, per i partecipanti, una piattaforma che può garantire un contatto istantaneo per un networking che eviti richieste di appuntamenti e inviti su Zoom ma che punti ad un WEMW Cafè dove ci si può incontrare e trovare esattamente come se si fosse a Trieste all’ormai famoso e prolifico mercato di co-produzione. Alessandro Gropplero, responsabile WEMW ci accompagna lungo queste novità e innovazioni e prova a fare il punto sul futuro del mercato, in cui nelle prossime edizioni, questi nuovi esperimenti virtuali possano diventare complementari ad un programma in presenza in modo da aprire a più partecipanti possibili e nuove opportunità di sviluppo.

WHEN EAST MEETS WEST è un incontro di co-produzione organizzato dal Fondo Regionale per l’Audiovisivo del Friuli Venezia Giulia, assieme a Trieste Film Festival, in collaborazione con EAVE, Antenna MEDIA Torino, Maia workshops, Eurimages e con il sostegno di MEDIA Programme, Direzione Generale per il Cinema – MiBACT, CEI (Central European Initiative), Regione Autonoma del Friuli Venezia Giulia.
