PODCAST| David Martos interviews Li Cheng and George F. Roberson, director and producer of the film José.
In the interview we discuss the process of filmmaking executed by Li Cheng, who moved to Guatemala two years ago in order to capture the moment of the country. The producer discusses filming with a short crew.
José is nineteen years old and lives with his fifty year old mother in Guatemala: a hard life in one of the most dangerous, violent and religious countries in the world. José is the youngest son and also his mother’s favorite, who spends his life between the church and the sale of sandwiches. José, on the other hand, lives between crowded coaches and the road on which he delivers the food of a restaurant. Resigned and disenchanted, in his spare time he plays with his phone and has occasional sex.
