PODCAST | Angelo Acerbi interviews Nicolai Johnansen, director of the film If You Knew.
Nicolai Johnasen with his film If You Knew, in the Furture Frames section fo the Karlovy vary Film Festival, introduces a new approach to the classic dramatic situation of recovering after a break up. As he tells us, he was interesting in the stalking aspect of it, when one cannot help but searching what the other persone is doing now, and he uses this as the starting point of the narrative, with a touch of thriller and action too.
If You Knew: It’s been a few months since Leonora last heard from her ex-boyfriend, but she can’t get him out of her mind. If only he knew that the things she did in the past were because of her illness. How desperately she would like to look him in the eyes and explain it all. But her yearning for forgiveness could violate the personal boundaries of the one she so desperately loves.
