What does real love mean? It means to be able to love somebody or something in all its aspects, the beautiful things and the extreme and dark sides. With his last film, Babylon, Damien Chazelle shows us, without filters, the dark side of the 20’s Hollywood and by doing so, declares his love for cinema no matter what. In Rome to present the film to the italian audience the director talks about his love for moving images and how he might be identifying himself with one of the film’s main characters, Manny ( Diego Calva).

Babylon: From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.
