Joachim Trier – filmmaker – Louder than Bombs

FRED’s Matt Micucci interviews filmmaker Joachim Trier, whose film Louder Than Bombs is in competition at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.

Joachim Trier tells us about why he decided to shoot Louder than Bombs in english, and discusses with us many aspects of the film and the making of the film, including its themes and its narrative structure.

He also tells us a little bit about the casting – a cast that features names like Isabelle Huppert, Gabriel Byrne and Jesse Eisenberg.

LOUDER THAN BOMBS: An upcoming exhibition celebrating photographer Isabelle Reed three years after her untimely death, brings her eldest son Jonah back to the family house – forcing him to spend more time with his father Gene and withdrawn younger brother Conrad than he has in years.

With the three of them under the same roof, Gene tries desperately to connect with his two sons, but they struggle to reconcile their feelings about the woman they remember so differently.
