John C. Reilly and Ben Whishaw – Actors – The lobster

FRED’s Matt Micucci meets John C. Reilly and Ben Whishaw, actors in Yorgos Lanthimos film The Lobster, in competition at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.

They talk with us about the atmosphere of the production and share with us their opinion on the perspective of filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos.

They also share with us their opinion on the theme of the film, which revolves around relationships and paranoia in a (not too distant) future world, and reveal to us the decisions they would have made had they found themselves in the same situation in which the characters they portray are in.

THE LOBSTER: A love story set in the near future where single people, according to the rules of The City, are arrested and transferred to The Hotel. There they are obliged to find a matching mate in 45 days. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods. A desperate Man escapes from The Hotel to The Woods where The Loners live and falls in love, although it is against their rules.
