Tetsuya Nakashima – Filmmaker – The World of Kanako (Kawaki)
FRED’s Matt Micucci talks to filmmaker Tetsuya Nakashima about his latest film THE WORLD OF KANAKO, presented in the Dare section of the 58th BFI London Film Festival. Tetsuya Nakashima talks to us about creating a film made of contrast, the use of humour in his unique hyper stylised and violent vision and the impact which it can have on a story, and he also tells us how his method of working with actors has changed with this production.
THE WORLD OF KANAKO is the story of a former detective Akikazu, who searches for his missing estranged daughter, Kanako, and soon learns that she has a mysterious secret life.
