The Jury of the 78th Festival de Cannes has been revealed!

Leading the way is French star Juliette Binoche, joined by an extraordinary group of artists from around the globe:
Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia, Alba Rohrwacher, Leïla Slimani, Dieudo Hamadi, Hong Sangsoo, Carlos Reygadas, and Jeremy Strong.

Together, they’ll award the next Palme d'Or among 21 films in Competition — after last year’s triumph for Sean Baker’s Anora.

The winners will be announced on Saturday, May 24 at the Closing Ceremony, broadcast live by France Télévisions in France and by Brut. internationally.

The Oscar-winning director of Sideways, The Descen

The Oscar-winning director of Sideways, The Descendants, Nebraska, and The Holdovers will preside over the jury that will award the prestigious Golden Lion at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, running from August 27 to September 6, 2025.

Known for his masterful storytelling, sharp wit, and deep cinephilia, Payne brings his passion for both classic and contemporary cinema to one of the world’s oldest and most revered festivals.

Festival Director Alberto Barbera praised Payne as “a filmmaker-cinephile whose passion for cinema is fueled by knowledge of films of the past and curiosity about contemporary cinema, without boundaries or barriers of any kind. ”

“It’s an enormous honor and joy to serve on the jury at Venice,” Payne said. “I couldn’t be more excited.”
