Nevina Satta – CEO – Sardegna Film Commission
This is an extract from the first FRED at School conference, which was held on the 2nd of July 2015 in London, UK.
This extract features Nevina Satta, CEO of the Sardegna Film Commission, sponsors of the inaugural edition of FRED at School. She is also the main representative of the minority language film community, and spares a few words for FRED Film Radio’s very own channel in the Sardinian languages,FRED Sardu as well as the relevance and importance of minority regional languages, giving numerous examples from other European countries from Spain with the Catalan language to the UK with its Welsh language.
She then goes on to talk about FRED at School, and most particularly of the involvement of the Sardinian region in the project as the “experimental” side of the project. But also references the project as a whole as an important reference point for not only the concept of audiences development, but also for the collection of data regarding films and a young audience and regarding the use of the Sardinian language among kids.
On top of that, Nevina refers to FRED at School as an important project tying a young audience’s consumption of film with teaching potential future filmmakers and film producers, inspiring hence a new wave of people that will be involved in safeguarding the future of the film industry of the Sardinian region and all over Europe.
