Darren Aronofsky, Michelle Pfeiffer - Mother! #Venezia74 fredfilmradio
PODCAST | Chiara Nicoletti interviews Darren Aronofsky and Michelle Pfeiffer, director and actress of the film Mother!
Mother! will be remembered at Venezia 74 as on of the most controversial, loved and hated films the Mostra has ever seen. The film starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, an isolated couple living in a beautiful villa in the woods, can count on the outstanding performance of Michelle Pfeiffer as the intruder (Ed Harris’) wife. Since there’s never an unique interpretation of his films Aronofsky reveals that he always has his own interpretation of all his films, especially Mother! but that he pays attention to every detail and every instruction he gives his actors so that they have no clue where they’re heading in the story. Michelle Pfeiffer talks about her role and about how her character makes Mother! understand things about herself, her femininity and her relationship with her husband.
Mother!: a couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. Mother! is a riveting psychological thriller about love, devotion and sacrifice.
