A conversation with director Bruno Gascon, director of Sombra, the Portuguese film that had its world premiere at this year’s BCN Film Festival. The film explores the grief of a mother who continues to fight to discover the truth about her son’s disappearance. In this interview, Gascon talks about the genesis of the project and the research that went into its construction. He also talks about working with lead actress Ana Moreira and through the early days of the pandemic.

Sombra:  Years after her son’s disappearance, a mother keeps trying to find him after a kidnapping that justice cannot resolve, as she moves into a universe that wants to force her to mourn a child she believes is still alive. Based on real events.
