PODCAST| Nadina Štefančič interviews international casting director Debbie McWilliams.

Debbie McWilliams is an internationally renowned casting director from the UK, who has most famously cast the last 13 films from the James Bond franchise. Among the directors she has worked with are Roman Polanski, Stephen Frears, Anthony Minghella, Sam Mendes, Martin Campbell, and Ron Howard. McWilliams was a guest of the program “Casting at the Heart of Filmmaking” at the 24th Edition of Sarajevo film Festival, centering on the casting profession, organized in cooperation with the International Casting Directors Network (ICDN). As a part of the program, she held a masterclass for the participants of Talents Sarajevo, talking to them about collaborating with casting directors. In our interview, she told us about the media attention that comes with casting films with a huge fan base, how the transgender actors are starting to get their mark in the film industry and in what way young actors can improve their possibilities for getting cast in international films.
