“Conversation with” at the 20th Marrakech IFF, interview with actor Willem Dafoe Bénédicte Prot
PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Espen Wallin, co-director of the documentary Self Portrait.
An interview with director Espen Wallin, who co-directed the documentary Self Portrait with Margreth Olin and Katja Høgseth, and presented the film in the International Competition of the 2020 One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. The documentary is about Lene Marie Fossen, the late photo artist who also lived with anorexia from the age of ten. Wallin talks about the origins of the project and about Fossen herself, as well as the desire to highlight her work as an artist. He also talks about Fossen’s relationship with her anorexia, whether she was comfortable during the making of the movie and more.
Self Portrait: She is fascinated by human faces – but she hid her own for a long time. In an effort to stop time, Lene became enchanted by photography, but also the desire never to grow up and to have total control over her own body.
