The Soup of The Day
Tra i film presentati, spicca “The Loneliest Man in Town“, ambientato a Vienna, che narra la storia di un musicista blues in isolamento, in lotta contro la speculazione edilizia e il suo sogno di trasferirsi negli Stati Uniti. Il film, con ritmi surreali e atmosfere alla Wim Wenders, è già considerato uno dei momenti più originali della Berlinale 2026. Un altro titolo importante è “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York“, diretto da Noah Sagan e interpretato da John Turturro, un tributo alla città che non dorme mai, ma anche una riflessione sul rapporto tra lavoro e famiglia.
Le polemiche politiche e i film in concorso
Il festival continua a essere sotto i riflettori per le questioni politiche, tra cui una famosa lettera aperta da parte di 81 personalità internazionali che criticano la posizione della Berlinale sulla censura e il ruolo politico in conflitti come quello israelo-palestinese. Questa situazione ha sollevato discussioni sul ruolo dei festival come piattaforme di impegno sociale, anche in un contesto artistico come il cinema.
Resta da vedere chi sarà il vincitore della manifestazione, tra un’attenzione crescente verso film più intimi, che approfondiscono temi familiari, e opere che affrontano il macrocosmo politico globale. La Berlinale 2026 si conferma un festival all’insegna di grandi contenuti e accese discussioni, con un futuro che sembra ancora tutto da scoprire sulla scena cinematografica internazionale.
