PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Potsy Ponciroli and Tim Blake Nelson, director and actor of the film Old Henry.

A conversation with Potsy Ponciroli and Tim Blake Nelson, respectively director and lead actor of Old Henry, screened out of competition at the 78th Venice Film Festival. This film is a western with a modernist touch and we ask whether Blake Nelson likes to inhabit this space and whether, like the character he plays in Old Henry, he has ever wanted escape into the wild. We ask Ponciroli about his movie, which he also scripted, and whether he believes that the western is particularly apt to the tumult of contemporary times.

Old Henry: is an action western about a widowed farmer and his son who warily take in a mysterious, injured man with a satchel of cash. When a posse of men claiming to be the law come for the money, the farmer must decide who to trust. Defending a siege of his homestead, the farmer reveals a talent for gun-slinging that surprises everyone calling his true identity into question.
