Luc Chamberland – Director – Seth’s Dominion

FRED’s Matt Micucci has the pleasure of meeting filmmaker Luc Chamberland, who presented his documentary SETH’S DOMINION at the 2014 Raindance Film Festival. This is a documentary about celebrated Canadian graphic novelist and illustrator “Seth”, who is considered among the most influential in his field. But more than simply biographical, this documentary allows us an exclusive and priceless glimpse inside the mind of the artist, and even unveils some very private work – the private work of an artist balancing art for money with art for the sake or art. Chamberland does so by mixing live action, talking head interviews, off field narration, animation and even puppetry.

We talk with Chamberland about his creative approach, his admiration for Seth’s work, how the project began and how the film was kind of a pet project on which he worked for a number of years.
