A conversation with Valdimar Jóhannsson, director of Lamb. The film was presented in the program of Alice nella Città, the parallel and independent section of the 2021 Rome Film Fest. This is a one of a kind feature set in a remote Icelandic setting, starring a childless couple whose life unexpectedly changes with the arrival of a mysterious newborn. Without giving too much away about the film, in this interview we cover such topics as humanity’s relationship with nature, empathy, the importance of the distinct desolate Icelandic setting of the movie and more.

Lamb : A childless couple, María and Ingvar discover a mysterious newborn on their farm in Iceland. The unexpected prospect of family life brings them much joy, before ultimately destroying them.
