John Landis, the American filmmaker, presented a restored version of his 1981 beloved horror classic An American Werewolf in London. The film has certainly stood the test of time, and in our quick chat with Landis, the director tells us of the origins of the film and how he feels his own taste in movies, beginning from so called B-movies, influenced it as well as the other works of his career.
AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. David and Jack, two American college students, are backpacking through Britain when a large wolf attacks them. David survives with a bite, but Jack is brutally killed. As David heals in the hospital, he’s plagued by violent nightmares of his mutilated friend, who warns him that he is becoming a werewolf. When he discovers the horrible truth, he contemplates committing suicide before the next full moon causes him to transform from man to murderous beast.
