Arne Lietz – MEP

This extract features Arne Lietz, MEP involved in numerous committees of the European Parliament dealing with cultural and educational matters. Arne Lietz is a strong supporter of the cause undertaken by the LUX Prize in offering a chance to understand different cultures and points of view, and was involved in such organisations as Facing History in Ourselves, which brought young people from different cultural backgrounds and with different identities together to challenge the world around them and challenge history in order to affect their daily lives and perception of daily lives and become active citizens.
He praises and endorses the work undertaken by FRED at School. He identifies it as an excellent project that encourages an exchange of ideas between students and voices different perspectives. He also says that he hopes that in the future, FRED at School will encourage students to interact even more, through the use of the internet, modern technology and social media, and urges them to continue their work.
