FRED’s Matt Micucci meets DAMON MAULUCCI, who directed wrote and produced the film DETONATOR with Keir Politz. The film had its European Premiere at the 59th Cork Film Festival. Damon talks to us about character driven stories, the challenges of working on a tight schedule mostly made up of night shoots and the importance of the element of punk rock as a backdrop to the film.

DETONATOR is about Sully, the former frontman of a Punk rock band whose current suburban complacency and family life is disturbed when out of nowhere an ex-band mate Mick shows up promising to make good on an old debt. What follows is a wild journey through the streets of Philadelphia that also represents the crossroads that Sully has come to, forced to revisit his former lifestyle whilst struggling with the trap of his current domesticity.
