PODCAST | Chiara Nicoletti intervista Matteo Rovere, regista del film Il Primo Re.

Per la sua voglia di fondere la tradizione neorealista italiana con il fantasy, l’action e un’epica che non appartiene più al cinema hollywoodiano, Matteo Rovere, con Il Primo Re, fonda quasi un nuovo genere, che potrebbe definirsi Neorealismo epico. Dopo una lunga gestazione presenta infatti il film sulle origini di Roma e della nostra civiltà, rivisitando la storia dei due gemelli Romolo e Remo interpretati sul grande schermo dal giovane Alessio Lapice e dall’ormai navigato e sempre ottimo Alessandro Borghi. Con il protolatino da parlare, a garanzia di verità, una fotografia che nelle mani di Daniele Ciprì garantisce un effetto all’altezza dei riferimenti cinematografici a cui si ispira, primo tra tutti, The Revenant di Alejandro González Inárritu. Rovere racconta il suo approccio al film, il mix tra desiderio di realismo e l’impossibilità di sapere tutta la verità quindi doverla inventare e si augura che questo sia il primo film di una lunga serie ad opera di colleghi che con altrettanto ardore ed ambizione vogliano pensare “outside the box”. Il Primo Re sarà nelle sale italiane dal 31 Gennaio.

Il Primo Re: Due fratelli, soli, nell’uno la forza dell’altro, in un mondo antico e ostile sfideranno il volere implacabile degli Dei. Dal loro sangue nascerà una città, Roma, il più grande impero che la Storia ricordi. Un legame fortissimo, destinato a diventare leggenda.
