FRED Film Radio talks to Romanian actress Cosmina Stratan, who was one of the hand-picked European Shooting Stars at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.

Jury’s comment: Cosmina rules with her emotions. In BEYOND THE HILLS, she demonstrates incredible precision in her acting, with an expertly modulated performance that keeps emotion reined in but radiates a powerful feeling.

Cosmina Stratan was born in Iași, Romania, and came to acting following her studies in journalism and advertising. After graduating in acting from UNATC Bucharest, Cosima appeared in several short films and plays. In 2012, she was cast in BEYOND THE HILLS, which marked her feature film debut. For her performance in this film, directed by Cristian Mungiu, she received the Best Actress Award at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. She is currently playing in an HBO series, STAY WITH ME.
