FRED Film Radio catches up with a very busy Matthijs Wouter Knol, the programme manager of the recently renamed Berlinale Talents (from Berlinale Talent Campus) to discuss the importance of this programme running alongside one of the most prestigious film festivals of the year, the 64th Berlin International Film festival. This year there was fierce competition with 4167 applicants hoping to be selected for one of the 300 places on offer. We talk in depth about what it means to be a part of the Berlinale Talents programme, how it has evolved, and what these handpicked individuals can expect from this comprehensive film programme.
