Jerome Paillard – executive director – Marché du Film
At the end of this 68th edition of the Festival de Cannes and the 2015 edition of the Marchè Du Film, FRED’s Chiara Nicoletti interviews Jerome Paillard, Executive director of the world’s leading film market to gather his first impressions and results of this year’s edition.
Numbers and figures are stable and if last year China was the 5th territory in presence at the market, the 2015 sees Korea among the most present countries.
This year also marked the second year of NEXT, a space dedicated to the front runners of new and alternative business models in film, and it was a success as the NEXT panels and special sessions were the most attended ones by the film industry professionals. The secret of the Marché du Film is to keep track with new models in film’s distribution and business by combining these innovations with the traditional and still effective model.
The tireless Marché du Film’s team is already at work on the 2016 edition and FRED will be there to spread the news on their initiatives and broadcast their events.
MARCHE DU FILM: The Marché du Film is the most important event in the industry and the leading meeting place for 10 000 film professionals, including 3 200 producers, 2 300 theatrical distributors, 1 500 sales agents and 790 festival programmers.
