PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Joren Molter, director of the film Greetings From Kropsdam.
Fred Film Radio is media partner of the European Film Promotion (EFP) Future Frames, which presents ten outstanding young directors with their latest work at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Director Joren Molter, from the Netherlands, was among them at the 52nd edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and he presented his short film Greetings from Kropsdam. In this interview, Molter talks about his film, how his upbringing in a small Dutch village helped him shape his story, the oppressive mentality of these settings, his choice of using non-professional actors, his experience as part of this year’s Future Frames, and more.
Greetings From Kropsdam: Lammert lives in a village by the name of Kropsdam. Lammert raises pigeons and his best friend is Frieda. He doesn’t have much else, and as long as he avoids the misfortune of getting mixed up with a company that builds wind turbines, then everybody likes him just fine. And then no one does. Kropsdam doesn’t forgive and the inhabitants know how to make that abundantly clear.
