At the New York premier of Intelligent Lives we meet Dan Habib, and we talk about all of the moving stories in this eye-opening movie. A movie we won’t forget, a movie that reminds us of the importance of including children with intellectual disabilities in higher education, meaningful employment, and intimate relationships. We than talked about the collaboration with Chris Cooper, narrator and executive producer of the movie, and his wife Marianne Leone. The movie will open in New York City September 21st at City Cinemas Village East Cinema, in Washington DC September 26th at National Press Club, and in October in all the US.

Intelligent Lives stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities – Micah, Naieer, and Naomie – who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of these central characters through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing in the U.S.
