After successfully premiering at the 19th edition of Rome International Film Festival, “Hey Joe” by Claudio Giovannesi is finally hitting Italian cinemas on November 28th distributed by Vision Distribution.
Written by Giovannesi with Maurizio Braucci and Massimo Gaudioso, “Hey Joe” is produced by Palomar together with RAI Cinema, in collaboration with Vision Distribution, Sky and Netflix.
Playing the lead in “Hey Joe” is US actor, director, screenwriter and producer, James Franco. He plays Dean Barry, a US veteran from New Jersey who, at the beginning of the ‘70s . decides to return to Naples in Italy to look for the son he had with the Neapolitan girl he had a relationship with during the Second World War.
He’s looking to make up for a 25-year absence, but his son is now a man, he’s grown up and he’s been adopted and raised by a smuggling boss and he has no interest in his American father.
Quoting James Franco: “This is a movie about somebody that stops running away and now is leaning in to something positive, hope”.
“Hey Joe” is a film about second chances and hope for redemption.
